Ad Tech Soars For Entravision in Q2, But Broadcast Dips Again

Entravision posted a blowout quarter on paper, but the growth had little to do with its radio and television holdings. The company’s Media segment was weighed down by declining national advertising, even as its separate ad-tech division nearly tripled its revenue in Q2.

Per Entravision CEO Michael Christenson, “Net revenue in our Media segment decreased 1% in second quarter 2026 compared to second quarter 2025 due to lower broadcast advertising revenue and revenue from spectrum usage rights which were partially offset by an increase in digital advertising revenue and [television] retransmission fees.”

The Media segment posted net revenue of $45.1 million in the second quarter. “Local advertising revenue increased 1%, and national advertising revenue decreased 19%, excluding political revenue,” Christenson reported. It also experienced an operating loss of $3.3 million for the quarter, compared to an operating profit of $0.4 million in Q2 2025.

Losses in the segment total $8.5 million for the year so far, compared to a $2.3 million loss over the same six-month period last year. As Entravision does not split radio and TV results, it’s unknown how much of that is attributable to AM/FM.

Company-wide, Entravision’s results looked far stronger. The Spanish-centric broadcaster reported $19.7 million in income for the quarter. Consolidated net revenue rose 126% to $227.9 million, driven almost entirely by the company’s Advertising Technology & Services segment, which grew 230% to $182.8 million on higher monthly active advertisers and increased revenue per advertiser.

Radio Ink has tracked this trend through the first half of 2026.

In the first quarter, the Media segment grew 4% even as broadcast advertising revenue declined, while the ATS segment surged 204%. Entravision’s Media segment included 44 radio stations as of the company’s first-quarter disclosures; the company does not break out radio-specific revenue separately from television and digital within the segment.
