Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio has opened applications for its fourth annual Behind The Mic Mentorship program, which will give one female on-air talent a year of one-on-one industry mentorship and a trip to NAB Show 2027 in Las Vegas next April.
Open to female on-air personalities from a US-based music format with three to five years of experience in a local or national role, the selected Behind The Mic mentee will get direct access to accomplished industry professionals for one-on-one conversations, guidance, and career-focused insight.
Past Behind The Mic mentees include Cumulus Media Albuquerque afternoon host Jenelle Vannoy, Leighton Broadcasting Music Director Brook Stephens, and Connoisseur Media Bay Country 94.5 (KBAY) San Francisco afternoon host Emily Harlan.
Applications are open through Wednesday, September 30, and can be submitted through MIW’s website.
MIW Board President Sheila Kirby said, “One of MIW’s greatest strengths is the incredible bench of female leadership across our organization and the willingness of those women to invest in the next generation. Behind The Mic puts that strength into action by connecting rising on-air talent with women who have built remarkable careers and understand what it takes to grow and succeed in this industry. MIW is all about creating meaningful opportunities, opening doors, and ensuring talented women have the support and relationships they need to keep moving forward.”
