A Baltimore Classic Rocker is the latest station being sold to make way for K-LOVE’s Christian Contemporary Music network. Educational Media Foundation has agreed to purchase WZBA and its FM translators from Times-Shamrock Communications.
Collectively branded as The Bay: Baltimore’s Rock Classics, the cluster has aired Classic Rock programming since December 1, 1999. Times-Shamrock acting CEO Diane Sutter signed off on the transaction, in a deal brokered by Kalil & Co.
Financial terms were not disclosed, with a filing in the FCC’s License Management System expected early this week.
The sale continues K-LOVE’s spread in the DMV. The network previously entered the Washington, DC, DMA through acquisitions of Centennial Broadcasting’s WINC in 2020 and Cumulus Media’s WRQX in D.C. proper in 2019 as part of a larger, national sale.
