Saga Communications has promoted Lisa Varner to VP/General Manager of its North Central Florida Media radio cluster, filling the role left by retiring GM Howard Tuuri. For the past four years, Varner has served as the three-station group’s Director of Sales.
Succeeding Varner as DoS is Tonya Asher, who joins NCFM from Gainesville’s Gray Media, where she was Local Sales and New Business Development Manager at WCJB-TV. Saga’s Ocala cluster contains 93.7 K-Country (WOGK), The Outlaw (WOGK-HD2), and 95.5 WIND (WYND), as well as the 352today digital news platform.
Tuuri said, “Lisa’s attention to detail and ability to multitask while managing events and an account list have been remarkable. Her business acumen and dedication to excellence make moving into an executive management role a logical next step in her career. And Tonya’s talent and experience are a perfect fit for the extraordinarily important Director of Sales position. The future is bright for North Central Florida Media.”
