The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation has partnered with Hallmark Media to introduce the Make Her Mark Student Scholarship. The inaugural recipient will be announced during the 50th Annual Gracie Awards Luncheon on June 18.
The scholarship, aimed at supporting female students pursuing creative careers in entertainment, builds on Make Her Mark, the on-the-job mentorship program designed to increase women’s representation behind the camera.
Through this new initiative, one student will receive $7,500 toward her education, along with a mentorship experience led by Make Her Mark founder and Hallmark Media actor and creative partner Ashley Williams. The program is designed to support students early in their career development and to provide mentorship that fosters long-term success.
Details on scholarship criteria and how to apply are available through the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation.
Williams said, “Make Her Mark is about offering education to up-and-coming directors through on-the-job experience. We give these aspiring women their first ‘yes’ and then ensure that during their first opportunity behind the camera, they are supported and set up for success. We’re incredibly proud to collaborate with AWM on this scholarship opportunity and to celebrate our shared goal of uplifting and empowering women in media.”
Alliance for Women in Media Foundation President Becky Brooks said, “This scholarship is more than financial support – it’s a meaningful investment in a student’s creative journey, and a reflection of our mission to ensure every woman with a story to tell has the tools, guidance, and support to tell it.”

As the father of daughters in college I say, BRAVO.
