Bold Gold Media Group’s 98.3 WSUL Heart-A-Thon marked its 46th anniversary on February 16. The day-long broadcast event raised more than $80,000 for heart disease prevention, education, and treatment within New York’s Sullivan County.

Since its beginning, the Heart-A-Thon has collected more than $3 million in donations, directly contributing to local efforts against heart disease. The funds raised from the event are managed by the Bold Gold Fund under the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan Counties.

Beneficiaries of the proceeds include Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills, Sullivan 180, A Single Bite, and the Steam Fund. The success of the Heart-A-Thon is a community achievement, with 20 local committee members, 40 sponsors, the participation of 150 Heart Card Locations, and Bold Gold’s local radio team.

Bold Gold NY Region GM Dawn Ciociari said, “Dollar by dollar this generous community helped us raise over $80,000 for the prevention, education, and treatment of heart disease in Sullivan County. At the heart of it all has been this local radio station. For over four and half decades it has been a unifying force, bringing the entire community together, across all walks of life, for this wonderful cause.
