Chris Carson, who succeeded 32-year veteran Jim Murphy as the morning host on Midwest Communications’ WIXX, is no longer with the station. Carson’s biography was removed from the Green Bay station’s website, leaving a vacant spot in the station schedule.

WIXX Brand Manager Corey Carter told Green Bay’s WLUK-TV, “After careful consideration, we have decided to move in a different direction with WIXX mornings. We thank Chris Carson for his contribution during his time here and wish him the best. At this point, we have no comment on the future of the show, but we’ll have more information soon!”

Carson had taken the reins of the morning show after Murphy’s retirement in November. Murphy’s former co-hosts, Katie Schurk and Nick Vitrano, have since moved to Woodward Communications’ 95.9 Kiss FM (WKSZ) and are anticipated to join its morning show after the resolution of a non-compete clause.

Before joining WIXX, Carson’s career included stints at WDEZ-FM in Wausau and NASH-FM in Oshkosh.
