Audacy has rolled out a new Hispanic station, La Mega 102.3 (WLMZ-AM), in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA. Catering to the region’s growing Hispanic demographic, the station will feature a mix of current Spanish, Latin, and Caribbean hits.
La Mega has named Jonathan Alcantara, who previously worked in New England on stations like Power 102.9 and La Mega de Boston, as Brand Manager. WLMZ is launching with a weekday lineup that includes the Premiere Networks-syndicated The Enrique Santos Show, James the Bandit on middays, and afternoons with Alcantara. Additional lineup details will be disclosed in the upcoming weeks.
Audacy Wilkes-Barre Senior Vice President and Market Manager Ryan Flynn stated, “The Hispanic population is growing in Northeast Pennsylvania, and this launch represents a significant step in our commitment to serving our local listeners and clients.”
Alcantara added, “I’m so excited to join the Audacy team in Northeast PA and take the La Mega brand to the next level. Having the access to Audacy’s resources and the tremendous upgrade of coverage with the 102.3 FM and 1300 AM signals will open up so many new possibilities.”
