Skip Mahaffey is joining Christian broadcaster Pillar Media as the new Director of Programming Operations in Cincinnati, filling a position left vacant by Jeff Evans last summer. Concurrently, Pillar has promoted Kristen James to the role of Music Director in New Jersey while she continues her Midday on-air duties.
Mahaffey comes with a 40-year background in broadcasting. He was most recently a co-host of the K-LOVE Morning Show for seven years. Mahaffey also has extensive experience in Dallas, Phoenix, and Tampa.

James, who has been with Pillar Media since 2012, has served in various capacities at the station, from promotions and production to on-air roles.
Of her new duties, James said, “It has been such a joy to watch Pillar Media grow over the years and I’m so thankful that I’ve been able to be a part of it! I’m so excited to see how God will use me in this new position. STAR’s music has been the soundtrack through all my highs and lows. What a privilege it is to share the power of it with our listeners!”
Both Mahaffey and James will begin their new roles on Monday, October 16. Pillar operates Star 99.1 (WAWZ) in New Jersey and Star 93.3 (WAKW) in Cincinnati, along with KPOF in Denver.
