The popular Doctor Who: Redacted podcast is set to return with six new episodes in honor of the show’s 60th anniversary. Produced by BBC Studios for BBC Sounds, the second series will be available starting September 18.
Juno Dawson resumes her role as lead writer, joined by returning cast members Charlie Craggs, Lois Chimimba, and Holly Quin-Ankrah. This season also features an array of guest stars from the Doctor Who universe and beyond, including Freddy Carter, Anjli Mohindra, Dervla Kirwan, and Alexander Armstrong.
The new series continues to follow Cleo, Abby, and Shawna as they host The Blue Box Files, a podcast exploring mysterious blue box sightings linked to historical, world-changing events. Cleo, portrayed by Charlie Craggs, is the only one who remembers their previous world-saving adventures with The Doctor. While grappling with feeling like the third wheel among her coupled-up friends, Cleo encounters Apex Costa, an enigmatic spaceman with a teleportation device, raising questions about his true identity.
Juno Dawson commented, “I’m so excited that Doctor Who: Redacted is back for a second series, it feels particularly special to be a part of such a big year for the show. We’ve got a stellar returning cast and welcoming guest stars, both old and new, into Cleo, Abby and Shawna’s corner of the Doctor Who universe has been brilliant. I can’t wait for fans to hear the series and see what is next in store for the trio.”
