Grant County Broadcasters has rebranded WNKR in Williamstown, KY, from Classic Country to The Oasis, focusing on hits from the 1960s to the 1980s. This change comes as Owner Jeff Zeismann prepares to sell the former home of The Oasis, WNKN in Middletown, OH, to Relevant Radio for $4.5 million.
WNKN had previously transitioned to “The Oasis” format in July 2022 and saw its audience more than double, rising from 59,900 in February to 115,600 in July 2023. Nielsen’s July 2023 PPM results ranked The Oasis ninth overall in Dayton. The WNKN sale is set to yield a $500,000 profit for Zeismann.
In contrast, Classic Country 106.7 had a Nielsen Audio rating of 1.0 share in Cincinnati, whereas The Oasis WNKN had a 2.1 share in Cincinnati and a 3.2 share in Dayton.
