Emily Quirk has been formally promoted to the position of Program Director at New Hampshire Public Radio (NHPR). With more than 11 years of experience at NHPR, Quirk will now oversee live broadcast platforms and live events programming, aiming to maximize the impact of the organization’s journalism and expand and diversify NHPR’s audiences on radio, livestream, and events.

During the past six months, Quirk has taken on Program Director responsibilities alongside her role as production manager. She has supervised NHPR’s programming department, managed the on-air schedule and special coverage plans, collaborated with the podcast team to bring their journalism to radio, and handled negotiations with syndicated programming suppliers.

As production manager, she has coordinated on-air fundraisers, produced segments like “Give Back NH,” and developed the NHPR Music vertical. Prior to joining NHPR in 2012, Quirk held various positions at KUSP, the public radio station in Santa Cruz, CA.

“Emily is dynamic and energetic, a can-do person who makes good things happen,” said NHPR’s President Jim Schachter.
