Audacy has announced that syndicated host Erick Erickson will join the weekday programming lineup of Greenville, SC News/Talk 98.9 WORD (WYRD). The Erick Erickson Show will air on middays starting June 21.
Originally from Jackson, LA, Erickson practiced law before transitioning into broadcasting. He served as the editor-in-chief of conservative political news blog RedState.com and has worked as a political contributor for CNN and FOX News. Erickson has also hosted evening drive on WSB Radio in Atlanta. The Erick Erickson Show is now broadcasted on over 20 radio stations across the country.
“With the arrival of Erick Erickson as the new afternoon talk show host on WYRD-FM, an unsurpassed team of talent will serve the Upstate, north Georgia, and western North Carolina,” said Audacy Greenville-Spartanburg Market Manager Steve Sinicropi.
“I grew up spending parts of my summer in Upstate South Carolina and am thrilled to be on a station where I can connect with parts of my family and friends and make new friends,” said Erickson. “News/Talk 98.9 WORD isn’t just a powerful signal, but a strong voice and talk radio leader. I’m glad to be part of the team and look forward to spending more time in Greenville.”

After Ben Shapiro left his spot in Palm Beach County, I was hoping to have someone exciting just like Ben. We now have Eric Erickson who is horrid. His monotone voice is grating to say the least. He’s slow to speak, and he’s not entertaining. He has no levity to his stance, and is dull and boring. I drive from Miami to Boynton Beach each day, and can no longer listen to him. Perhaps get him a partner who’s younger, and for gods sake, has some wit.
