Amazon’s Wondery has signed a first-look podcast deal with New York Times bestselling author Shea Serrano. Serrano will develop original ongoing and limited podcast series. Most recently, Serrano hosted the rap album podcast No Skips with Jinx and Shea for Spotify and The Ringer.
This is only one facet of a larger deal with Amazon, which includes an overall exclusive television pact with Amazon Studios. Serrano is already in business with Amazon, serving as the creator and executive producer for the upcoming comedy series Primo.
“Shea is a triple, quadruple, maybe even quintuple threat, and we can’t wait for fans to hear him bring his singular perspective on sports and culture every week,” said Wondery Chief Content Officer Marshall Lewy. “We also love when we get to work closely with talent across multiple touch points within Amazon like we’re doing with Shea.”
