At CES in Las Vegas later today the radio industry is hosting a special VIP reception at The Bellagio sponsored by Quu, Beasley Media Group, Benztown, vCreative, Xperi, Skyview Networks, Jacobs Media Strategies, Radio Ink, and Radio + Television Business Report.
We checked in with Beasley Media Group CEO Caroline Beasley to see what she’s expecting from the show, why she attends and why she believes others from the radio industry should also make the trip out to Vegas for CES.
Why do you attend CES?
Caroline Beasley: It’s where innovation and technology meet. I have been attending for years now and believe it’s important that as an industry, we are present on-site and sincerely looking for new opportunities, potential partnerships and unique ideas as we continue to evolve both as a company and on a larger level- as an industry.
What are you interested in learning more about while you are there?
Caroline Beasley:Personally, I am very focused on AI as well as any technology that complements, embraces or supports our core business.
What will you be doing at the show?
Caroline Beasley: I’ll be participating once again in the Jacobs Tour which is always fascinating! It’s a “bird’s eye” view of what we can expect to see in the automotive space in the near and not so distant future. Last year, we saw a variety of new technology ranging from the latest in electric vehicles to two man-drones!
We will also visit Eureka Park at the Venetian Expo. It’s an amazing showcase of exciting new and innovative technology featured in a variety of themed sections throughout the show floor, ranging from individual inventors focused on specific areas of expertise to major research universities and different countries showcasing their latest technology.
Beasley, once again, is one of the presenting sponsors of the invite only reception taking place in Las Vegas…
We are thrilled to once again be joining our other partners for the event It’s a great way for attendees from the radio industry to come together and talk about what we saw and how it could potentially be implemented in our business. Other sponsors include: Quu, Benztown, Xperi, Skyview, vCreative, Jacobs Media Strategies and of course, Radio Ink and RBR/TVBR.
What advice do you have for broadcasters who do not attend the show?
Caroline Beasley: CES is a must attend event if you want to stay ahead of the curve and see first-hand new technology that can support, complement, and enhance our industry.

Nothing against Beasley at all, but what purpose does an “invite only” reception at CES serve? Other than for radio industry “parochial” and political schmoozing.
To further the cause and awareness of radio, doesn’t it make much more sense to have an “open” reception, and invite in people from companies at CES that might consider advertising on radio?
Just sayin…
