Cumulus Media has tapped Scott Vertical of WDVD (96.3 FM) in Detroit to host a new morning show for Ann Arbor’s adult album alternative station WQKL (107.1 FM).
Vertical will host weekday mornings from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. local time, and another show on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Vertical takes over for Martin Bandyke, a 40-year radio personality in southeast Michigan, who recently retired.
“No one could possibly replace Martin Bandyke; he has been an integral part of the lives of so many folks here in Ann Arbor,” Vertical said in a statement. “‘m going to do my best to harness Martin’s spirit and continue to focus on sharing great music and building community relationships for Ann Arbor’s 107one. I’m very excited about this tremendous opportunity in a city I love and look forward to working with the tremendous crew at Cumulus Ann Arbor!”
