HEH Communications’s Huntsville stations KSAM (101.7 FM) and KHVL (104.9 FM, The Lake) were honored on Saturday by the Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commercial as the organization’s Business of the Year for 2022.

“I remained encouraged that our community is in great hands by the example of unwavering leadership displayed by the caring professionals of KSAM & The Lake,” Ray Hernandez, the president and CEO fo the Huntsville-Walker Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement. “They stand tall among the many businesses that call our community home. They step forward time and time again, helping tell the story of the people, places, and businesses we all serve.”

“Our small but mighty team is dedicated to serving our communities with local news, local weather and local sports,” Tim Johnson, the general manager of the stations, said. “We seek out and partner with non-profits and important local  organizations. We’re focused on serving all three local customers: the listeners, the advertisers and each other”

KSAM & KHVL teamed up November 30th and December 1st for a Walker County-wide food, toy and pet supply drive to fill the need of six local charities. The 16th Annual Radio MASH generated over $20,000 in cash, gift cards and supplies.

  1. The creative hard work of a previous general manager and several others led to this award long before Tim Johnson became the General Manager of these stations.
