Clark Howard and Cox Media Group’s Atlanta news-talk station WSB (750AM, 95.5 AM) brought in over $1.1 million in donations for foster children in Georgia.

The donations were received on ClarksChristmasKids.com, where supporters chose a toy to purchase for a child and donated the funds needed to purchase their gifts, and via two in-person shopping events at Walmart stores.

“The holidays can be a difficult time for children and teens in foster care, and I want to thank Clark Howard, 95.5 WSB, St. Vincent de Paul, and Walmart for doing everything in their power to make this Christmas special for our youth,” Candice Broce, the commissioner of the Georgia Department of Human Services, said in a statement. “I also want to give a special thanks to Governor and First Lady Kemp and Georgia’s state agencies for their incredible support year after year. This program would not be possible without our many partners, donors, and volunteers, and I am so proud that – together – we’ve met our goal once again.”

“I so look forward to these children across Georgia in foster care having the joy of Christmas and wonderful gifts to open because our generous listeners opened their hearts and wallets again this year to make it happen,” Clark Howard said.

“No child should ever have a Christmas without presents. Because of Clark’s Christmas Kids, Clark’s personal commitment to this program and the generosity of our listeners, thousands of children in foster care will have a very special holiday,” Ken Charles, WSB’s program director, said. “I am so proud that 95.5 WSB is partnered with this amazing program.”

Clark Howard made special appearances in-studio with WSB talk shows December 1, and broadcast live with Mark Arum on December 2 and Dave Baker on December 3 from Walmart locations to drive giving.
