Cumulus Media has hired Nikki Blakk to serve as the on-air host for San Francisco classic rock station KSAN (107.7 FM, The Bone).

The hiring is a homecoming for Blakk, who started her radio career as an intern with KSAN while attending nearby San Francisco State University. She spent 10 years with the station in various on-air roles before traveling around to stations across Northern California, including KSJO (92.3 FM) in San Jose and KMRQ (96.7 FM) in Modesto.

“Nikki has a long and important history with KSAN, spending 10 years at the station previously,” Chasta Michaelis, the program director at KSAN, said on Monday. “I’m confident she will bring a great deal of experience, knowledge, passion, and familiarity to The Bonehead family. We are very excited about the future with Nikki Blakk back at The Bone”

Blakk returns to the station after a seven-year absence from radio.

“When I left radio in 2015, it was always my intention to return. I had intended to do it sooner, but better late than never!” Blakk said on Monday. “I am looking forward to reuniting with my Bonehead Family and coming home to where it all began and where I belong, 107.7 The Bone.”

Blakk stated at KSAN on Monday and will be heard during the station’s afternoon drive hour from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
