Hartford, CT radio station WDRC is celebrating 100 years. The station, that bills itself as Connecticut’s first radio station, is planning a special celebration Saturday September 17.

The celebration includes national talk show host Mike Gallagher, a tribute to the legendary Brad Davis who was the morning host for over 40 years, along with many of the voices that have made the station influential in the Hartford communities.

“We are excited to bring together a great evening of radio history and entertainment,” said John Fuller, President Full Power Radio. “WDRC call letters are iconic and the station has a great history of being a community service champion.”

The station signed on the air in 1922 by owner Franklin Doolittle. The call letters honor the name ‘Doolittle Radio Company’.
