V100.7 (WKKV-FM) 9th annual breast cancer charity walk is going virtual. Sista Strut is set for October 3.
Throughout October listeners are being encouraged to “strut” on their own time; also Breast cancer survivors are being invited to upload photos and stories at the V100.7 website. The free event aims to bring awareness to the importance of breast cancer screenings, especially for African American women who are at greater risk of dying from the disease.
“Even though the pandemic has made it difficult for the community to gather for this important event, breast cancer remains a concern for the women in our community,” said Bailey Coleman, on-air personality for V100.7. “Sista Strut aims to be a reminder that we have to take care of ourselves and make sure we are still doing our self-checks and scheduling our mammograms.”
