KPLZ-FM, Star 101.5 will mark National Nurses Appreciation Day by honoring a local nurse each hour today. The tributes start at 6 AM and run each hour through 7 PM.
Listeners to the station have been nominating nurses who have gone above and beyond during this crisis. Thirteen nurses were randomly selected from the nominees, they were interviewed and the audio will be turned into one minute vignettes to air each hour.
“Star 101.5 wanted to do something special to honor those on the frontline and with so many nurses that listen, it made sense to honor them every hour,” said PD Kent Phillips.
In addition to the on-air and digital platform recognition, each nurse will receive a one night stay at a local StayPineapple Hotel property and a gift card to Mama Storini’s Restaurant and Bar.
