NRG Media Omaha has teamed up with University of Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine to rally the Omaha community and show support for the health care workers in Omaha and around the state.
Beginning in early April, NRG Media, UNMC and Nebraska Medicine started asking everyone to start wearing “RED” on Friday in support of the health care workers.
All seven NRG Omaha stations are participating in the campaign through promo’s, liners, and utilizing all forms of social media (Facebook, Facebook live, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok). Additionally, the NRG Media staff filmed a wear red on Friday’s video.
General Manager Mark Shecterle said this was a no brainer. “Once I received the call from UNMC asking for our support for their employees and all health care workers I immediately said yes. These incredible individuals are putting their life on the line to save us. It is the least we could do, and I could not be more proud of how my team has rallied around this cause. It’s incredible.”
