“Out With Jimmy” Tells LGBTQ Coming Out Stories

Longtime WRQX-FM morning show co-host Jimmy Alexander has rolled out a new PodcastOne show that features members of the LGBTQ community sharing their “coming out” stories. Out With Jimmy debuted on October 11, National Coming Out Day.

The premier featured Alexander’s own story of how he struggled with his identity for decades, only to finally come out on the air in 2012.

“I’m finding that most who come out feel the weight is off their shoulders,” said Alexander. “For so long, they felt it was something to be ashamed of, and now finally it’s something to be proud of. It’s moving because people love sharing their stories. Some are funny, others are heartwarming, and many will bring tears to your eyes.”

Guests come from all walks of life, including an employee of Chick-fil-A, an influential blogger, and people in government positions.

Listeners can download Out With Jimmy from Apple Podcast and Google Play. Videos of the interviews are available on YouTube. The show is produced at the studios of WTOP, Washington, DC.
