WCBS 880 (WCBS-AM) New York Mets play-by-play broadcaster Howie Rose has been selected to the 2019 class of the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame honors players, executives, broadcasters, team staff, and other influential members in baseball in the state of New York. Rose will be honored at an induction ceremony on November 3 in Troy, NY.

“Howie is an iconic voice for the New York Mets franchise and has served as a stalwart for the team’s coverage for over three decades,” said Susan Larkin, Regional President and Market Manager, Entercom New York. “This distinguished honor further cements Howie’s stature in the sports broadcasting industry and we’re proud that he is part of our team.”

Howie Rose has served as lead play-by-play broadcaster for Mets baseball since 2006 on sister station WFAN (WFAN-AM/FM) and WOR in New York. Rose had a previous stint with WFAN from 1987 to 1995, holding various roles, including host of Mets Extra, pregame and postgame host for Mets broadcasts, and play-by-play broadcaster for New York Rangers hockey games.
