The Yakama Nation in Central Washington has its own radio station, KYNR-AM. However, it’s been off the air for 8 months after burglars stole all the station’s equipment, forcing it to go dark.
Station officials had to request $20,000 from the Yakama Tribal Council to purchase the new equipment needed to get back on the air. As Northwest Public Broadcasting reports the ‘Voice Of The Yakama Nation’ will be back up and running this week.
