Columbia University student Bekah Mulberg is the winner of the fourth annual BMI Founders Award for Radio Broadcasting scholarship competition. Mulberg’s winning essay discussed the lasting influence of radio on all media, from live theater to podcasts, and how she hopes to continue to find synergy with radio and other forms of art and media. The award will be presented by Broadcast Music Inc.’s (BMI) VP of Industry Relations and Scholarship Director Dan Spears at the 44th annual Conclave Learning Conference on June 20, 2019 in Minneapolis, MN.

“The opportunity afforded to me by this internship reinforces my passion and enthusiasm for the music entertainment industry,” Mulberg said. “I truly look forward to working with Beasley Media and the BMI Foundation.”

Mulberg is a performer and filmmaker studying film and business management at Columbia. Currently, she is producing and directing a documentary supported by Allergy & Asthma Network and Food Allergy Research and Education. Since 2010, Mulberg has worked as a freelance photographer and in production on projects by HBO, NBC, CNN, Court 13, and 4th Row Films.
