This Church Pastor Did What?

The Commission went on an East Coast pirate hunt the past few months and turned up the heat on four homeowners and one church, Thursday, giving them 10 days to explain why they are operating illegal radio stations. Florida and Massachusetts appear to be a nice little settling ground for pirates. How the church pastor responded to the FCC about the station will surely make you chuckle.

Betty Sarfo or Worcester, Massachusetts, was notified by the bureau for operating a pirate station on 98.7 in Worcester. She has 10 days to respond. Read the notice HERE.

Wendy Lopez of Springfield, Massachusetts, was caught operating an unlicensed station at 101.5 from her home in Springfield and has 10 days to respond. Read her notice HERE.

Tracy and Gerard Peters in Oakland Park, Florida, were nabbed operating a pirate station on 100.3 at their house in Oakland Park and also have 10 days to get back to the Commission. Read their waning HERE.

Clairelia and Walter St. Fleur and Sylvie Grand-Pierre of Miami were notified about a pirate station they were running on 101.1 MHz from a residential property on NE Miami Ct. in Miami. Read their letter to take it down HERE.

And finally, Wisland Georges at the New England Evangelical Church of Mount Olives in Medford, Massachusetts, was warned he was operating a radio station without a license on 98.7. In his letter to Georges, Enforcement Bureau Region One Regional Director David Dombrowski writes, “You identified yourself to the Agent as the pastor of the New England Evangelical Church of Mount Olives. You admitted that you were the operator of the radio station and you acknowledged that you had no authorization to operate the radio station.” The Pastor has 10 days to explain. Read his letter HERE.

  1. What a tease. You tell us that the church pastor’s response will give a chuckle and even put a link to read his reply, but the link only leads to the FCC letter.
