Charlotte’s 102.9 The Lake and 106.5 The End raised over $16,000 and collected more than 1,000 toys for Kids First of the Carolinas, an organization that provides Charlotte-area families with the services and resources. The Lake partnered with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra for their concert in Charlotte on December 8. For each ticket sold, one dollar was donated to Kids First of the Carolinas — resulting in over $11,700 raised for the charity. Meanwhile, The End held its annual Not So Acoustic Christmas concert on December 5 featuring performances by Bassh and Third Eye Blind. In addition, the station partnered with Tito’s Vodka to present the charity with a check for $5,000.

“There are many great causes to support this time of year, but no one can bear the thought of a child of any age not being able to experience a joyous Christmas,” said Jack Daniel, Program Director for 102.9 The Lake and 106.5 The End. “Kids First is a local, grassroots organization that helps families in our community. The work they do is so important, as each year on December 26 they start over again from nothing and build towards the next year.”

Kid’s First Founder Sharon Sanders said of this year’s fundraisers, “iHeartMedia Charlotte has been supporting Kids First for many years and we were so happy this year when they chose us to benefit from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert. The need is great each year and the money raised for Kids First makes such a big difference.”
