The station was recently flipped from Sports to Hip Hop, and Scott Kunnath has been named the new Sales Manager of the Detroit station. Kunnath comes over from Radio One in Detroit where he was D.O.S. for the past eight years. Previous to that, he worked at ABC Disney where he was the DOS at WDVD-FM and WDRQ-FM in the Motor City. He began his career at CBS Radio in Detroit.
The new station officially launched on July 1 at noon. 105.1 The Bounce features throwback hip hop and R&B songs from the 90s and 2000s, including artists that span from 2Pac and Ice Cube to Drake and Rihanna.
