The new channel will be called Red Hot Chili Peppers Radio and will launch on Wednesday, June 15 in celebration of the band’s new studio album, The Getaway, to be released June 17. Chris Rock, Red Hot Chili Peppers super fan, will host the limited-run channel. Red Hot Chili Peppers Radio will feature music spanning the band’s entire career.

Rock, who inducted the Red Hot Chili Peppers into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2012, will introduce music and share personal stories about their nearly 20-year friendship.

“We’re excited to join forces with one of rock’s most treasured bands to bring SiriusXM subscribers Red Hot Chili Peppers Radio,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, SiriusXM. “With Chris Rock as the channel host — someone who knows a thing or two about hosting big entertainment events and even more about the Chili Peppers — fans across North America will be taken on an exclusive guided tour of the band’s iconic career.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers Radio will debut on SiriusXM, Wednesday, June 15 at 3:00 pm ET and will run through Tuesday, June 21 on channel 34 and through the SiriusXM App on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as at siriusxm.com.
