Scripps-owned WTMJ has made several programming changes at its heritage news station in Milwaukee. Eric Brooks (pictured) gets promoted to the position of Director, Programming & News and Erin Dismeier is also promoted, to Executive Producer of WTMJ Programming.

GM Tom Langmyer said, “Brooks’ new position recognizes his growth in leading the generation of unique content, varied topics, and an enhanced local focus.
WTMJ does more than aggregate others’ content, and Eric is greatly responsible for leading the team in this direction. Through Eric’s work, we have more reporters on the street and a greater focus on engaging local stories and topics to serve our listeners.”

Brooks joined WTMJ in 2011, moving up from roles as a Producer/News Anchor, to Executive Producer, to Assistant PD, to his most recent role as Program Manager. He previously served as news director of the Jacksonville (IL) Area Radio Broadcasters, Inc. stations, and started his career as an intern in the newsroom at WGN Radio in Chicago. He is a graduate of Valparaiso University.

Dismeier will continue in her role as producer for Wisconsin’s Afternoon News and add supervisory duties for some members of the content team. Dismeier joined WTMJ in 2013, and serves as Producer of Wisconsin’s Afternoon News, with John Mercure. She is also a Digital Content Producer. She has been a reporter, feature producer, and has hosted on WTMJ’s sister station WKTI (KTI Country). Previously, she was an Associate Producer at Tribune Broadcasting in Chicago, worked at KBIA-FM in Columbia, MO, and started her career as an intern at WGN Radio in Chicago. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri.

  1. Will any body read this? I was a faithful listener in the morning with Gene Mueller and Jeff Wagner. Now that has changed. I know longer listen to the 8:30 segment as Jeff is no longer on. I was always a morning listener as my afternoons and late mornings are busy. I am still a faithful listener to the Packers and Brewers. Will not listener to the T.V. commentators for football. Wayne and Larry are the best. My opinions but my listening to wtmj are less.
