The Big Heart Of Little Rock

A pair of Cumulus stations in the Arkansas capital — KLAL and KURB — raised $155,593 for Arkansas Children’s Hospital through its two-day radiothon. It was the 13th annual radiothon for the stations and was held March 2-3 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The grand total now given to the hospital is $2.8 million.

Randy Cain, Program Director, KURB/KLAL, said, “I’m really proud of my team for always putting their heart and soul into the radiothon. They are the greatest storytellers I know. They not only share miracle stories about kids they meet for the first time at the radiothon, they also go deep with personal stories shared by their friends, church members, and their listeners. And, in many cases, the stories are their very own, like one of our morning hosts, Heather Brown, whose infant daughter suffered a seizure and was rushed to ACH; and our afternoon host, Kevin Miller, whose son had a biking accident and was treated at ACH. Arkansas is such a small state that we often say we have two degrees of separation from a child treated at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. We all can name at least one, if not a dozen. What better way to serve our community than to help take care of Arkansas’ kids?”
