ESPN Radio Hosts Hijacking “First Take”
The hosts from ESPN Radio are ready to rumble, it seems. Beginning July 11, they will be taking over ESPN2’s weekday morning studio debate show First Take. A different duo or trio from ESPN Radio will face off each day and thrash out the day’s top stories. Molly Qerim will be the host as the fireworks go off every morning from 10 til noon. Brooke & Jubal Find Another Home In Peoria
Alpha Media WNGY-FM (Energy 102.3) will now be airing Brooke & Jubal in afternoon drive. The show also airs in Portland and San Antonio. Brooke has worked in morning radio for over 12 years and has hosted Top 40 radio’s first all-female morning drive show. Jubal Flagg is a standup comedian, radio host, television personality, and comedy writer.
Pendergast Named D.O.S For Milwaukee Radio Alliance
Patrick Pendergast is the new Director of Sales of the Milwaukee Radio Alliance stations in Milwaukee. Pendergast will oversee sales for FM 102/1 (WLUM-FM), B93.3 (WLDB-FM), and Milwaukee’s True Oldies Channel (WZTI-AM).
Baka Boys Choose United Stations
United Stations Radio Networks has signed a deal with producers the Baka Boyz to handle the advertising sales in all the programs created, hosted, and distributed by the Baka Boyz. The programs airing now are the Baka Boyz All Star Hit Mix which is geared toward CHR and Rhythmic CHR, and the Baka Boyz Hip Hop Master Mix which is a more Urban program.
It’s Middays For Citizen Kelly On WCGO
Sometimes-controversial political talk jock William J. Kelly’s The Citizen Kelly Show has been expanded to middays on AM 1590 WCGO. The Emmy award-winning producer and commentator starts his noon to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, shift this week in the Windy City.

WGOW’s Gary Haskew Dies
Longtime Chattanooga sports reporter and talk host Gary Haskew passed away on July 4. The 74-year-old suffered a massive heart attack.
WCBM’s Tom Marr Suffers A Stroke
Talk Radio 680 WCBM in Baltimore announced on its website that Marr is on medical hiatus after suffering a stroke as a result of recent back surgery. Marr has been in Baltimore radio since 1967, and has been with WCBM since 1988.
WBLI Announces New Morning Show
Last week, the CMG Long Island station parted ways with morning hosts Dana and Jayson. On Tuesday, the station announced their replacement would be The Cooper Lawrence Show, featuring Cooper Lawrence and Anthony Michaels.
Burke Gets His Own Show With Cumulus Atlanta
Cumulus has signed Shannon Burke to host a new 9 a.m.-Noon talk show on NewsRadio 106.7/WYAY-FM in Atlanta. Burke was the audience favorite in NewsRadio 106.7’s three weeks of auditions for the slot at the station.
