Joyner Among This Year’s Giants Of Broadcasting

Tom Joyner was one of 10 members of the media industry acknowledged at the 14th Annual Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts, held Thursday, October 6 in New York’s Gotham Hall. The event, which was presented by the International Radio and Television Society Foundation, benefits the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation. Joyner, a trailblazer in syndicated radio, reaches 7.4 million listeners weekly on nearly 100 radio stations.  He earned the nickname “The Fly Jock” in the mid-1980s flying between Dallas and Chicago, doing his number one morning drive program in Dallas and then commuting to Chicago for his number one afternoon program.
