Hurst Moves To Fresno’s Soft Rock 98.9
The iHeartMedia’s station announced Wednesday that Fresno radio personality Jason Hurst is joining 98.9’s weekday lineup. He’ll join Teri Ann Schlesser to host the new Jason and Teri Ann Morning Show. The new program will debut Monday, August 1 and will air weekday mornings from 5-10 a.m.
Inaugural BMI Scholarship Awarded
Twenty-year-old Messiah College student Mikaela Mummert has won the inaugural, nationwide BMI Founders Award for Radio Broadcasting scholarship competition. Mummet was presented the $5,000 scholarship award by BMI Vice President of Industry Relations and scholarship Director Dan Spears, along with BMI Foundation Executive Vice President David F. Bills, at the 41st annual Conclave Learning Conference on July in Minneapolis.

Pennsylvania Host Dies in Motorcycle Wreck
1620-AM is located in Saxonburg, PA. Owner/General Manager Ken Hawk tells Radio Ink one of his announcers, lost her life in a motorcycle crash over the weekend. Lori Jean LeBlanc was riding with her boyfriend in California when their bike crashed. LeBlanc was 54.

Christian Broadcasting network Evangel Ministries, aka The Family, has hired Sonia Barham as its new CEO. She fills the vacancy created by Rick Reyer’s departure in December 2015.
