Philly Great Bubba John Stevens Dies

Bubba John Stevens (John Laboranti) who was on the air in Philadelphia for over 45 years has died. Stevens worked for WMGK and WMMR, retiring from WMGK in November of 2013. He was 66 when he passed and battling cancer.

97.1 The Ticket PD Jimmy Powers says Terry Foster, co-host of “Valenti and Foster,” is returning to the show today. Jeff Riger has been filling in for Foster on the Detroit sports station after it was reported a few months back Foster had a stroke.

Cary Simpson Dies at Age 89

WSNQ (Saxonburg, PA) President and GM Ken Hawk has informed Radio Ink that Allegheny Mountain Network Founder Cary Simpson has passed away. Simpson was a radio operator in the Navy during World War II. In the 50s, Simpson began building a group of small radio stations which became known as the Allegheny Mountain Radio Network.

Changes At Beasley’s WMMR Philly

WMMR is making its first on-air change in 8 years. Longtime WMMR-FM night host Matt Cord is moving over to mornings on Beasley's 95.7 BEN-FM. Cord will co-host mornings with mid-day host Kristen Herrmann as of January 3. Jacky Bam Bam will take over Cord's shift.
