iHeartMedia has renewed the contract with syndicated morning man Elvis Duran. It's a new 5-year deal which will keep Duran at WHTZ-FM in New York City. He's also heard on 80 stations across the country. Duran will also collaborate with iHeart on a several joint ventures and events, including hosting the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in New York City.

United Stations Radio Networks announced Thursday that it has struck a deal with air personality Joe Breezy to take over as host of its weekly CHR and Hot AC program Celebrity Top Ten Countdown. The show was formerly hosted by Jackson Blue, whose schedule has become too jammed for him to continue in the role. 

Seton Hall University’s student-run WSOU 89.5 FM revamped and expanded its mentoring program this past academic year, a fact made obvious when students Nick Durant and Tim Bonomo were accompanied by WSOU alumnus, mentor and retired WCBS-FM music director Richard Lorenzo to observe the operations of CBS Radio in New York City.

Morning duo Dean Myers and Roger Beaty will celebrate 20 years on the air in Houston on Friday, April 28, and  Mayor Sylvester Turner has proclaimed Dean & Rog Day in Houston. The proclamation will be presented to Dean & Rog during their morning show on Friday.

Larry Patrick was the recipient of a Broadcasters Foundation's Ward L. Quall Leadership Award in recognition of his career contributions to the industry and community. Patrick and his wife Susan support two Native American orphanages and schools in South Dakota, among other support for youth and the needy. They have helped build schools in Kenya and the only orphanage in Swaziland for children of AIDS patients.

No surprise here. Radio icon Delilah was inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters Broadcasting Hall of Fame during the Radio Luncheon at the NAB Show this week in Las Vegas. This is the third prestigious honor in the past year for the most-listened-to woman on radio, who celebrated the 30-year anniversary of her nighttime radio program last year.

Bobby Novosad has a new deal as Brand Manager and morning show host at KSMB-FM in Lafayette, LA. Novosad joined KSMB in 1984. Market Manager Scott Chiasson said he's excited to be able to keep Novosad for years to come.

Rhythmic AC WBQT (HOT 96.9 FM) has landed the Blaze Man for afternoons. He joins the station Thursday, April 27, and will be heard weekdays 3-7 p.m. Born in Springfield, in Western Massachusetts, Blaze has been on the air in Boston for over 14 years.

At the Broadcasters Foundation Breakfast, Wednesday, in Las Vegas, Emmis CEO Jeff Smulyan accepted the Lowry Mays Excellence in Broadcasting Award. The award is given to a broadcaster whose work exemplifies innovation, community service, advocacy, and entrepreneurship.
