Vidler Moves To Entercom
Gene Vidler joins Entercom's New Orleans cluster as DOS to work for Chris Wegman. Vidler takes the Entercom job after working as VP of Sales for Tyler Media's nine-station cluster. Vidler has held sales positions in Nebraska, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. He started his radio sales career in Shreveport with Great Empire Broadcasting’s KWKH in 1993.
Dan Sileo Leaving The Mighty 1090
One of Radio Ink's Best Local Sports Talkers of 2017 is leaving his current job for another. Dan Sileo, who's been hosting mornings on The Mighty 1090 in San Diego since 2014, is leaving the station for another gig in the market. Sileo tells Radio Ink he's not ready to announce where he's going just yet but he will be hosting a Sports Talk show in San Diego.
Felger Signs Extension With Beasley In Boston
Beasley Media Group has signed Mike Felger to a multi-year contract extension. Felger is the co-host of the Felger and Mazz show on WBZ-FM/ 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston. Beasley picked up WBZ in a swap with Entercom as part of the Entercom/CBS merger.
WRXL Richmond Gets A New PD
Zach McHugh will now program Alternative Rocker XL102 (WRXL) in Richmond. He'll also host afternoon drive. McHugh joins WRXL from WSFS-104.3 The Shark in Miami/Fort Lauderdale where he was Music Director and afternoon drive host.
Tamo Takes Middays At Pair Of Stations
Tamo has been named midday personality for ALT 104.9/St. Louis and ALT 106.3/Des Moines. She will broadcast from 12 noon to 3p.m. on the pair of Alt Rock stations. Her show will include a variety of artists such as Twenty One Pilots, blink-182, and Foo Fighters.
Horton Makes The Switch In Montgomery
Paul Horton is the new Program Director and morning show host for WMXS-FM/Mix 103.3/Montgomery, AL. He debuted Monday on The Mix Morning Show. The show airs weekdays from 6-10 a.m. Horton joins Cumulus from WVRV-FM in Montgomery.
Maddhouse Making A Home In Charlotte
WPEG-FM/Charlotte (Power 98) has partnered with Habitat for Humanity Charlotte for the second year in a row to build a home for a local Charlotte family. The house will be located in the Lakewood neighborhood of Charlotte. No Limit Larry and the Morning Maddhouse will kick off the initiative with a live broadcast on January 12.
Woody Hits Hawaii
Honolulu’s Alternative station STAR 101.9 will debut The Woody Show, today, replacing Hudson & Scotty B, who hosted their last show Tuesday after working together for 20 years. Hudson move's to middays replacing John Manuel and Scotty B will now host the midday show on sister station KSSK-FM.
Axelsen Staying With ALT. San Francisco
Entercom announces that Aaron Axelsen will remain APD and Music Director for ALT 105.3 (KITS-FM) in San Francisco after signing a multi-year contract extension. Axelsen began as an intern at KITS-FM in 1995 and was later promoted to Music Director in 1998 and APD in 2008.
