Two New Co-Hosts For “Broadway’s Backyard”
JJade and Cowboy Curt have joined Broadway as co-hosts on morning show Broadway’s Backyard on 107.9 FM Y108 (WDSY-FM/Pittsburgh). Broadway’s Backyard debuted on Y108 during the fall of 2017 and airs weekday from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET.
AMP Radio L.A. Gets A New Morning Show
KAMP-FM in Los Angeles announces that Edgar Sotelo and Brian Moote will be the new hosts of the morning show in February. Sotelo was previously the morning host of WBMP in New York. He was born in Mexico, raised in Southern California and has won a Marconi. Moote was previously part of “The Bert Show,” in Atlanta and is a stand-up comedian.
Baisden Adds Co-Host DiPrima
After an extensive search for a co-host for the nationally syndicated Michael Baisden Show, award-winning broadcast journalist and radio personality Dominique DiPrima has been tapped for the position.
El Dorado Promotes Villones
Bob Villones is now the permanent Market Manager for the El Dorado Broadcasters’ Yuma cluster (KTTI-FM and AM 560 KBLU). Villones had served as DOS of the Yuma Cluster from 2012-2014. He rejoined El Dorado in Yuma as Sales Manager in early 2017, and then took on the role of acting General Manager in May 2017 when Ira Rosenblat left.
Salem Gets A New Philadelphia GM
Salem Media Group has hired Lorenzo Caldara to run its Philadelphia cluster of radio stations (WFIL-AM and WNTP-AM). Prior to joining Salem, Lorenzo spent 25 years at News-Talker WKXW-FM in New Jersey. Throughout his career, Caldara held positions as an AE, GSM, DOS, GM, and VP/Corporate Director of Sales.
And A New Salem GM In Nashville
GSM Kevin Anderson is promoted to GM for Salem's Nashville cluster. His responsibilities will include oversight for the Nashville Fish stations, the Salem Music Networks, and Singing News Magazine and CCMmagazine.com. Anderson has been with Salem since 1995 with most of those years in management positions.
Ramsey Hits 600 Affiliate Mark
The Dave Ramsey Show is kicking off 2018 with the announcement that it has just added its 600th affiliate after clearing KSFO-AM in San Francisco. The station will air the program from 6p.m. to 9p.m. PD Mike Anthony said, “Dave’s daily contribution to improving listeners’ financial lives is a key reason he is now part of the very powerful 560 KSFO lineup.”
Noory’s 15th Anniversary Doing “Coast To Coast AM”
2018 marks George Noory’s 15-year anniversary as host of Coast to Coast AM, the most-listened-to overnight radio program in North America. Noory became the full-time host of the popular radio program, which reaches nearly three million weekly listeners on more than 600 radio stations, in January 2003.
Cohen New Digital VP At Salem
Salem announced Monday that they have appointed Jamie Cohen to the position of VP Local Digital, responsible for driving local digital revenue growth. Cohen joins Salem from USAToday Network, where he oversaw digital sales and development efforts in a number of regions.
Bentley Featured Speaker At CRS 2018
Multi-platinum singer/songwriter and CRS 2018 Artist Humanitarian of the Year, Dierks Bentley, has been announced as Monday’s featured speaker (Feb. 5 from 4–5:00 p.m.) for CRS 2018, Feb. 5-7 in Nashville. The conversation, titled “Climbing The Mountain,” will spotlight Bentley’s rise to superstardom.
