The New York Market Radio Association has announced a new Chairman and Executive Committee of the Board, which includes new roles for existing members and new additions to the team. Scott Hopeck (pictured), President, iHeartMedia NYC, and current Secretary moves into the Chairman slot.

Elvis Headed To Hall

The nationally syndicated Elvis Duran will be inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame at the 2018 NAB Show. Duran’s career spans more than 30 years and includes both host and PD duties at iHeart's WIOQ-FM Philadelphia and KBest Media's KBTS-FM Austin, as well as stints at Entercom's WZGC-FM Atlanta and Cumulus' KRBE-FM Houston.

iHeart Promotes Kurtz In Chicago

Adam Kurtz has been named Senior VP of Sales for iHeart's Chicago Region. Kurtz joined iHeartMedia’s Chicago Region in 2001 and has been promoted from AE to LSM, GSM, and VP of Sales in 2015. Kurtz will report to Matt Scarano, President of the Chicago Region for iHeartMedia.

Tom Birch Joins Media Services Group

Birch will join MSG as a director. He currently owns Lakes Media, a company with nine stations in southern Virginia and northern North Carolina. Birch also owned Opus Media Group and was the founder and CEO of Birch/Scarborough Research.

Harlan Named Sportscaster of The Year

Westwood One Sports’ Monday Night Football announcer Kevin Harlan is the 2017 National Sports Media Hall of Fame Sportscaster of the Year. Harlan joined CBS Sports in 1998 as an NFL play-by-play announcer, after working at Fox Sports. This is his 33rd consecutive season broadcasting the NFL and he's called 30 season's worth of NBA games.

Joyner Returns To Atlanta

The Tom Joyner Morning Show returned to the Atlanta market on Tuesday. The show can now be heard on Radio One's Classix 102.9 FM, “Atlanta’s Classic RnB” station. As part of Joyner returning, Mitch Faulkner joins Radio One Atlanta as the morning show producer as well as hosting his Classic RnB Show, Saturdays from 7:00 p.m. to midnight.
