Las Vegas station Mix 94.1 (KMXB-FM) has announced a multiyear agreement with Mercedes Martinez and JC Fernandez, hosts of the station’s morning show Mercedes in the Morning, which airs weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. PT.

Stewart Moves To WRXR Mornings In Chattanooga

Sean Stewart has been named Program Director and host of the new morning show Rock 105 Mornings With Sean Stewart on Rock 105 WRXR-FM/Chattanooga, effective January 22. The show will air from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and feature rock music and lifestyle topics of local interest.

iHeart Columbus Host Passes

NewsWTVN-AM afternoon host John Corby died unexpectedly Saturday morning at the age of 61. Corby was a radio staple in Columbus for over 30 years. He had two tours with WTVN. He started as WNCI’s News Director and morning show co-host and then was a personality on 610 WTVN from 1984-1994 before he left for KDKA in Pittsburgh. He returned to 610 WTVN in 1997 in his current position as afternoon host.

Silverman Moving Up In New York

Silverman will help manage the day-to-day news coverage for the station, and its website and social media channels, in addition to his current reporting and anchoring responsibilities.

Levora Lands Mornings In The Quad Cities

Dave Levora has been named morning host for Davenport, Iowa’s WOC 1420, “The Quad Cities Place To Talk,” effective January 29. Levora will serve as morning host on WOC’s AM Quad Cities, weekdays 5:30 – 9 a.m. with the station’s Program Director Dan Kennedy.

New Sports Show For WSKO

Cumulus Media-Syracuse’s WSKO (The Score 1260) is adding a new daily local sports show to its lineup. Drive Time Sports will broadcast weekday afternoons, 3-6 p.m. Host Paul Esden has served as executive producer and sports update reporter for the Bud & The Manchild show, also heard on WSKO 10 a.m.-noon every weekday.

Stern To Induct Bon Jovi Into Hall

Howard Stern will have to leave the comfort of his Manhattan home and head to Cleveland, which he joked he was not pleased about, to induct his friend Jon Bon Jovi and his band into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Bon Jovi said, “Nobody knows not only me but the members of the band as well as Howard.” The ceremony is set for Saturday, Apr. 14.

McLaughlin To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Edward McLaughlin will be honored with the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award at the Broadcasters Foundation of America’s Golden Mike Award dinner, March 5, in New York City. McLaughlin founded EFM Media Management in 1987 and syndicated The Dr. Dean Edell Show. Shortly thereafter, he launched Rush Limbaugh into syndication.

Entercom has named Jennifer Seelig Director of News and Programming for KCBS All News (KCBS-AM and KFRC-FM) in San Francisco. Seelig has been with KCBS All News since 2001, most recently as Acting News Director, and prior to that as Assistant News Director.
