Rock programming veteran Jacent Jackson is the new PD for San Francisco Rock station KFOG 104.5FM and 97.7FM. Jackson was previously Program Director for KITS-FM in San Francisco.

Cumulus Media has announced that the longtime on-air host of Grand Rapids’ heritage Classic Rock station 97 LAV-FM, Ed Buchanan, died Thursday in Grand Rapids. He was 69.

Gary Sommer has been named General Sales Manager for Entercom Portland, effective July 2. Sommer has over 20 years of experience in the media and marketing industry, and was formerly a Senior Account Manager at SagaCity Media, Inc. in Portland.

Veteran broadcaster Bobby Mitchell is set to take a seat next to Stacy McKay as co-host of the Sunny 95 (WSNY/Columbus, OH) morning show. Mitchell’s resume includes stops at Detroit, Dallas, and Miami, and stations like WHYI-FM, KPLX-FM, and WOMC-FM.

iHeartMedia Miami’s TÚ 94.9, Donde Viven Tus Hits, announced Thursday that Walo Dávila has been named Program Director, effective July 9. Dávila is a 20-plus-year radio veteran.

Twenty-year veteran Chuck Poet is the new Market Manager for Cumulus' five-station cluster in Erie, PA. Poet joins Cumulus Media from Results Radio in Parkersburg, WV, where he was Sales Manager. Prior to that, he was Market President for iHeartMedia’s Parkersburg, WV, and Wheeling, WV, radio stations for 15 years.

Doug Hall has been named Digital Program Director for iHeart San Francisco, effective July 9. The company has six stations in the market and generates 30 podcasts locally with nearly 100 episodes each week published. Hall will report to Don Parker, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia San Francisco.

The Bob & Tom Show has promoted radio industry veteran John Kesler to Chief Operating Officer of the nationally syndicated morning radio show. Kesler moves up from his role as General Manager for the award-winning show.

We reported back on June 18 that WGOW (Chattanooga) morning man Jeff Styles was shot after he approached a vehicle with a tomahawk in a road rage incident. Today we find out the station has put him on leave while the incident is being investigated. Here's the statement released by the station...

Long-time radio sales trainer and professional speaker Chris Lytle was recently inducted into the Wisconsin Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
