Angie Ange (pictured) will be taking over mornings July 16 at WKYS-FM in Washington, DC. She'll be joined by Déja Perez and DJ Money. Ange’s radio career began when she was in high school in TV. In college Ange was PD at Howard University’s student station WHBC 830AM. She started as an intern at a local station before hosting evenings at WKYS.

The morning team, syndicated by Compass Media Networks, continued its summer tour with this sold-out event from "The Razor" in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Free Beer and Hot Wings “Morning Show at Night” tour started in Nashville at the world-famous Wildhorse Saloon, traveled to Grand Rapids, Albany, Portland, ME, and Green Bay. Next up is the Jersey Shore with 105.7 The Hawk on July 13. The show is heard on 45 stations.

Longtime Broadcaster Ed Schultz Dead

The Duluth News Tribune is reporting that longtime talker Ed Schultz has died of natural causes at the age of 64. After getting his start in Television, Schultz moved over to talk radio at WDAY in Fargo. In 2004, Schultz took his radio show nationwide.

San Luis Obispo Host Hit By Car

Dave Congalton has worked at KVEC for 26 years. He hosts afternoon drive on the station. According to KSBY.com, Congalton was walking to the immigration march downtown Saturday morning when he was hit by a car. He suffered head and leg injuries. Congalton said he'll be in the hospital for a few more days and in a full leg cast for six weeks.

Iowa Host Dies in Flash Flood

Larry Cotlar was the host of “Cotlar and Company” on 1350 ESPN in Des Moines. He died when he stepped out of his stalled vehicle and was swept away by a flashflood. The torrential rainstorm Saturday night dumped more than 7 inches of rain in just a few hours on Des Moines. Cotlar's body was recovered several blocks from where the van stalled. Cotlar was 66.
