Marty Griffin, who announced he has throat cancer back in September, will be back on the air Monday. Griffin tells Trib Live he lost 40 pounds and he's very weak but he's recovering and says "he's going to be healthy."

Dave Jansen has been named VP of Sales for the iHeart cluster in Minneapolis. Jansen joins iHeart from Comcast, where he served as a Digital Sales Manager. He previously worked at iHeart as an AE from 2007 to 2009. He's also worked in sales for The Star Tribune.

Business is good for syndicated morning show Murphy, Sam and Jodi with the recent addition of six new affiliates in Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas, Tennessee, and Illinois.

Rob Rush is the new PD and Brian Orlando the new APD for Connoisseur's WWSK/Long Island, NY (94.3 The Shark). Rush has been with the 94.3 FM frequency since December of 2003 and has served as Music Director for The Shark since August of 2017. Orlando, The Shark’s current morning show host, is taking on the additional responsibilities as Assistant Program Director.

Emmy Award-winning “Voice of the Yankees” and drive-time host on ESPN NY 98.7 FM Radio, Michael Kay, will become the first Fordham University alumnus to receive the Vin Scully Award for Excellence in Sports Broadcasting from the university's WFUV Radio.

After 13 years as PD and afternoon drive host at WXLC in Northern Chicago, Haynes Johns and Alpha Media have parted ways. Before WXLC, Johns was with WNND in Columbus for six years as APD/MD and afternoon drive host. He's also worked in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Jackson, MS.

Galaxy Media has promoted Carrie J. Wojtaszek to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer. Wojtaszek, a 10-year veteran of Galaxy, has served as the General Manager of Galaxy Events since 2013.

After eight years at WTMJ in Milwaukee, Eric Brooks has taken the job of Assistant News Director at Entercom's News Radio KCBS San Francisco. Brooks was Director of News & Programming at WTMJ. The station was recently purchased by Good Karma. Steve Wexler has been hired to run the station. Brooks starts with KCBS on November 12.

Iliad Media Group of Boise, Idaho, announced Monday the promotion of Kristin Lowman to Regional National Sales Manager. Lowman has been with the company for five years.

The company has named Mark Garcia SVP of Integrated Marketing Solutions in McAllen and Pulpo Media (an Entravision company) has appointed Laura Willis to the position of VP of Digital Sales.
