AM 870 “The Answer” Keeps Their Man

Salem Media Group has announced that morning co-host Brian Whitman has signed a contract extension to remain co-hosting the show in Los Angeles. Whitman first joined the company in April of 2012, after previous stints with KABC and KLSX in Los Angeles, and WABC in New York.

Laura St. James New PD At WXLO 104.5

The Worcester, MA, Hot AC station is the new home ground for St.James. However, she will continue to be heard weekends on WNSH-FM (NASH FM 94.7) in New York. St. James most recently served as Program Director/Afternoons for Cumulus Media-Allentown’s WLEV.

Long-Time L.A. Host Joe Reiling Dead at 65

Reiling had two runs on KLOS in Los Angeles, 1977 to 1981 and again from 2003-2009. He also worked for KMET, KNX and KLSX. Reiling's publicist reported that Reiling died Friday at the age of 65 after a long illness.

ESPN Suspends Gabber Jemele Hill

ESPN's Jemele Hill has been suspended for two weeks for breaking the network's social media policy. In the wake of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones statement that any of his players who don't stand for the national anthem will be benched, Hill called on fans to boycott advertisers associated with the club. The network decided enough was enough.

Loesch Gets Tons of Responsibility

Bobbie Loesch has been named Regional Senior VP of Sales for iHeartMedia's Pittsburgh/West Virginia Region. The region Loesch will now cover includes 24 stations. Loesch will be responsible for on-air and digital sales, personality endorsements, and local event sponsorships. She will report to Regional President Tim McAleer.

iHeart Promotes Two To VP In New York

Todd Moskowitz (left) and Marc Siegel have been named VP of Sales in the New York Region. Moskowitz becomes VP of Sales at WOR-AM. Siegel -- currently Sales Manager -- will be promoted to VP of Sales of Classic Rocker Q104.3. Both will oversee sales for on-air and digital inventory as well as promotions, personality endorsements, and sponsorships.

Cameron Moore To Brighten Middays In Charlotte

Cameron Moore has been named as the new midday (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) on-air personality on KISS 95.1 in Charlotte. Her first day is Monday, October 16. Born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC, Moore most recently worked at Midwest Family Broadcasting’s Top 40 and Country stations in Springfield, MO.

Max Wycisk Retiring After 40 years

Wycisk, the president of Colorado Public Radio, has announced he will retire on June 30, 2018, after more than four decades with CPR, first as an on-air announcer and then program director before becoming president in 1978.

Carney Awards Set For October 29

Elvis Duran will be in Los Angeles for The 3rd Annual Carney Awards on Sunday, October 29 and is welcoming all friends in radio to attend. The event, which Duran co-created, honors character actors. This year William Macy, Wendie Malick, William Fichtner, Richard Kind and Xander Berkeley are honorees. ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” host Tom Bergeron is hosting.

Delilah Announces Her Son Has Died

Over the weekend, nationally syndicated host Delilah announced her son Zachariah had committed suicide and she will be off the air for awhile to grieve. She said Zachariah had been dealing with depression for and committed suicide on October 3. Here's Delilah's full statement.
