LaBrozzi Takes Over Programming Duties At WPLJ

David LaBrozzi is the new PD at Cumulus' 95.5 PLJ in New York City. LaBrozzi takes over for Rick Gillette who left the company in January. He joins Cumulus Media from Entercom Baltimore, where he was VP of Programming for the company’s four-station cluster for 14 years.

Kollins Moves Out Of The Country

Corus Media has picked Don Kollins to program two of their FM music stations in Winnipeg, Canada. Kollins most recently programmed KGMZ-FM in San Francisco for Entercom. He will program both Power 97 and Peggy 99.1 for Corus.

Steve Harvey Morning Show Assistant Dies

Bryan Cooke, an assistant of Steve Harvey's co-host, Kier “Junior” Spates, was found dead at a hotel room in Atlanta on Sunday. Spates asked hotel staff to check on Cooke after he was unable to get a hold of him.

With Falco Retiring, Sadusky Set To Take Over

After an 8-year run, Randy Falco is retiring as CEO of Univision. He'll stay with the company as an advisor until the end of 2018 so the company can make a smooth transition to its new leadership. Vincent Sadusky (pictured), former Chief Executive Officer of Media General, has been hired to succeed Falco. Sadusky will take over this Friday.

The Fan In San Diego Gets New PD

The changes continue at Entercom's KWFN-FM in San Diego, the home of the San Diego Padres. Adam Klug will take over as Program Director on June 11. It was back in April when Entercom moved completely toward sports and away from a combination of talk, sports, and rock, called "The Machine." You may also recall it as the station of the infamous Kevin Klein bridge tweet.

18-year veteran Aaron Criswell is the new Market Manager for Cumulus' radio stations in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA. Cumulus has five stations in that market. Criswell joins Cumulus from Adams Radio Group, where he was Vice President/General Manager for its Las Cruces, NM, stations.

Radio Has Lost A Very Big Voice

One of the most recognizable national radio voices is gone. CBS Radio newsman Bob Fuss has died at the age of 64. CBS News General Manager Craig Swagler said, “Bob was an extraordinary reporter with a true skill for making complicated stories relatable for everyday people. Not only was Bob an outstanding journalist, he was an all-around optimistic and funny person. A true joy to work with.” Fuss had a rare type of leukemia.
