There are several radio executives we spoke to who believe this new measurement system was meant as "a poke in the eye" to Nielsen as the industry grows more and more frustrated with the ratings firm being unable to come up with a final product that measures both over-the-air listening and online listening.

NextRadio recently executed a pilot interactive radio campaign with Starwood's Aloft Hotels. Terry Fahy, VP/GM of Salem Media Group Los Angeles, has been in broadcasting for 38 years. In October 2014, Fahy was appointed VP of Operations for Salem Media Group’s West Coast markets: Seattle, Sacramento, San Francisco, and Ventura. It seems fitting, then, that Fahy is the new Chairman of the Board of Directors for the California Broadcasters Association.

Veteran sales executives Chris Saglian and Ryan McCrohan (pictured) have been named the new co-GSM's for Cumulus in Buffalo. Saglian joins Cumulus from Entercom-Rochester, where he was LSM. McCrohan’s new gig is a promotion in Buffalo, where he most recently served as LSM, after holding a variety of positions for the station cluster over the past 16 years.

Crenshaw will be returning to his home state of Ohio from Grand Rapids, MI, where he was Regional Operations Manager for 10 Cumulus stations in Grand Rapids and northern Michigan, and Program Director of WTNR. Crenshaw’s radio career began over 30 years ago at WOKG in Youngstown.

Could we see Pandora and SiriusXM as a team in the future? The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Liberty CEO Greg Maffei floated an offer of $15 a share to buy Pandora. Liberty controls SiriusXM with its 64% stake.

We haven't heard that often, if at all, from Pandora executives. Pandora CEO Tim Westergren said topline revenue was slightly below expectations in Q2 due to softness in national advertising in the entertainment and telco sectors.
