Houston FM $10 Million Sale Closes
The University of Houston has closed on the sale of KUHA-FM in Houston, which is a 50,000 watter in the nation's sixth largest market. The KSBJ Educational Foundation is picking up the station for $10 million.
Friends Remember WCBM’s Tom Marr
The Baltimore Sun has the details of Marr's funeral which was held on Friday. Marr started his radio career at WFBR-AM in 1967. He also broadcast Baltimore Orioles games. He started working at WCBM in 1988 and became a recognized conservative talker. He was still working at WCBM when he died of a stroke, at the age of 73, after undergoing back surgery.
Burke And Blondie Beat Cumulus in Court
Former WHNN Saginaw hosts Johnny Burke and Blondie are allowed to keep their online show after a federal judge ruled in their case. U.S. District Judge Thomas Ludington said the internet show the two former Cumulus employees are now hosting is not a radio station, as defined by their non-competes, and the show can continue. There were a few stipulations though.
Talent Institute in Kentucky Begins Today
It's the 4th annual Radio Talent Institute at Western Kentucky University. 35 broadcasters begin ten days of preparing young talent who want a career in radio.
Ravens, WBAL Sign Long-Term Deal
It's a new six-year deal between The NFL's Baltimore Ravens and Hearst-owned WBAL News Radio 1090 AM and 98 Rock (WIYY 97.9). The stations will remain the flagship home of the Ravens through 2022. A relationship that started back in 2006.
iHeart, Longhorns Announce Deal.
iHeartmedia Houston will be the official radio partner for The University of Texas football and men’s basketball programs. UT football and men’s basketball games will broadcast on Sportstalk 790 AM with select games broadcast on Newsradio 740 KTRH and KPRC AM 950.
KLOS Fires Dani Mathers
You may not have heard of Dani Mathers’ but she’s certainly done her best to change that. Cumulus' KLOS in Los Angeles -- where Mathis was an on-air contractor making appearances on the Heidi & Frank morning show -- has been fired for a photo she posted on social media.

Pasternak was afternoon host at Saga's Qfm96 which is part of the Columbus Radio Group. He was also known on the air as Joe Show. Pasternak was 56.
Aggies Sign With KXPZ-FM Through 2021
New Mexico State University Athletics has a new radio flagship, thanks to an agreement with Learfield’s NM State Sports Properties. Bravo Mic Communications’ KXPZ-FM 99.5, "Zia Country," will carry the Aggies’ football and men’s basketball games, and coaches’ shows, through 2021.
WABC Gears up For Convention Coverage
The New York City talk radio station will broadcast live from the Democratic and Republican National Conventions in Cleveland and Philadelphia, respectively. The Republican Convention begins today at the Quicken Loans Arena and the Democratic Convention will be held at the Wells Fargo Center, July 25-28, 2016.
