ESPN’s 98.7 FM New York Takes Giant Step
Former New York Giant and Super Bowl champion Chris Canty has joined ESPN New York 98.7FM’s Hahn & Humpty. Hosted by Alan Hahn and Rick DiPietro, the weekday show airs noon to 3 p.m. Canty, who was a defensive end, will also remain as a host for NY’s Game Day.
Cain Exiting Syndication
The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that Cain will remain on five Cox Media Group news/talk radio stations but will no longer be syndicated nationally. The change will affect over 100 stations. The 70-year-old has been syndicated nationwide since January of 2013, taking over for Neal Boortz.
Mobile Ignites Strong Holiday Spending
According to Adobe Digital Insights, consumers slapped down $3.34 billion online on Black Friday, that's an increase of 21.6% from 2015. On Thanksgiving day $1.4 billion was spent for a two-day total of more than $5 Billion, an increase of 11.5% over 2015. $1.2 Billion of that spending was placed using a mobile device, a 33% increase over 2015. Adobe says consumers have spent a total of $26 Billion online for the holiday season between Nov. 1 and Nov. 22, up 3.5% from 2015. Adobe measures 80% of all online transactions from the top 100 U.S. retailers.
Legendary Broadcaster Bob Chase Dies at 90
Fort Wayne Broadcaster Bob Chase passed away on Thanksgiving Day at the age of 90. Chase was the radio voice of the Fort Wayne Komets hockey team for 63 seasons.
A Format Flip – Not To Christmas Music
iHeart in Madison Wisconsin is turning back time with its flip to the "New Rewind 92.1, Madison’s Greatest Hits" station. The station was a progressive talker before a short stunt with holiday music.
Cadillac Jack Gets a New Executive Producer
Jeremy Powell gets the newly created position of Executive Producer for the Kicks 101.5 (WKHX-FM) morning show, “Cadillac Jack and Dallas, Mornings on Kicks 101.5.” Powell joins Kicks 101.5 from B98.5 (WSB-FM) in Atlanta, where he produced the station’s morning show for the past three years.

The Steve Harvey Morning Show and Premiere Networks have given away 8,000 turkeys as part of the Steve Harvey Morning Show Annual Turkey Give. More than 80 affiliates of the top-rated syndicated morning show gave the turkeys away to help those less fortunate celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.
Rome Selling Home For $14 Million
According to The L.A. Times, the 12,300 square foot house includes a home theater, a wine cellar, an elevator, six bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms, a game room, a gym, a speakeasy-style bar and a six-car garage. The paper says Rome purchased the property in the Shady Canyon community in 2003 and the house was built in 2007. Check out pictures of the mansion HERE.
