New Salisbury Show On SB Nation
SB Nation Radio will kick off over 80 hours of Super Bowl coverage with the debut of The Sean Salisbury Show January 30. The show will feature co-hosts Robin Carlin, Brian Barrett, and producer Adam Sager. It will run from 9:00 to noon while on Super Bowl radio row, then move to 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on February 6.
Trump Connects With FCC
The Hill reports that President-elect Donald Trump met with Republican FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai over the weekend. Pai is expected to take over as chairman of the FCC -- at least in the interim -- once the current chairman, Tom Wheeler, steps down at the end of the week.
Pat Patterson Dead At 81
A longtime voice on the airwaves of North Carolina’s Triangle, Patterson died following a long period of declining health. He was 81. Patterson worked in radio for six decades, mostly at Triangle stations, including WQDR, WDNC, and WKIX-AM.
Did Beasley Fire Host For Criticizing The Company?
That's Fort Myers sports talker David Mouton's side of the story anyway. Beasley Media had no comment about the Moulton firing from 99.3 ESPN. Mouton's release came one day after a story ran in the Fort Myers News Press where he was very critical of Beasley's firing of his long-time partner Mark Miller earlier in the year.
Davis, Grimes Join RAB Board
The Radio Advertising Bureau has filled two vacant seats on its board of directors. iHeartMedia Networks President Darren Davis and Westwood One President and Cumulus EVP of Corporate Marketing Suzanne Grimes were both announced as new members by RAB CEO Erica Farber on Tuesday.

It's a new multi-year agreement for the hosts of The Eric & Kathy Morning Show on WTMX in Chicago, Eric Ferguson and Kathy Hart. The Chicago natives, and Radio Hall of Famers, have been entertaining Chicago for 20 years. They also sport a Marconi for Major Market Personality. Details of their new deal were not released.
iHeart Says Country Festival Will Return
And the date is May 6 with the location being in Austin, for the fourth iHeart Country Festival. Artists announced so far include Jason Aldean, Little Big Town, Dierks Bentley, Brantley Gilbert, Rascal Flatts, Old Dominion, Jake Owen, Darius Rucker, Lady Antebellum, and Kelsea Ballerini. Tickets go on sale January 21.
CBS Locks In Devine In St. Louis
Hot AC Y98 (KYKY-FM) in St. Louis has signed midday host Jill Devine to a multi-year contract extension. A St. Louis native, Devine has been on the radio in St. Louis since 1998. Prior to working at Y98, Jill was morning host on “The Bull” (KSD-FM). Before that, she hosted middays on “The River” (WVRV) and “Movin” (WMVN), where she was also Music Director.
Triton Signs All 45 NRG Stations
Triton announced on Monday that NRG Media has selected the CMS and Club components of Triton’s Audience Management Platform across the radio group’s 45 stations.
